set out your bread choices
French bread is my favorites so I chose two different flavors, plain and garlic. If you want to create restaurant feel at home, just use plastic fast food baskets to lay out your bread options!
When I put together my charcuterie board, I started out with one of my favorite trays and arranged my fixens onto it. It doesn’t have to be perfect! Remember to just have fun! Most of the fixens are food items that I had on hand. Here’s a few suggestions but feel free to add you own favorites!
Sub Fixens Ideas
-Ham
-Turkey
-Cheddar cheese
-Colby Jack cheese
-Romaine Lettuce
-Tomatoes
-Pickles
-Cucumbers
condiments
Condiments are a must when building a sub. Mayonnaise and honey mustard are two of our favorites! I’m fairly practical so I chose to display the condiments in small ramekins. They look cool and take up minimal space! Food that looks good always tastes better, right?
Festive decorations
To add a pop of patriotic color, I placed star cupcake toppers into the food! I found these at Hobby Lobby! All of my festive decorations are a part of my 4th of July tablescape, that I will share on the blog soon!
My kids loved getting to choose their own toppings to “build their own” sub sandwich! I hope you feel inspired to create a patriotic sub sandwich charcuterie board of your own! What’s better than an easy meal that looks festive too?
