To start out, all you need are a few inexpensive supplies!
Valentine’s Day Hot Chocolate Treat Bag Supply List
Hot chocolate envelopes
Heart marshmallows
Peppermint candies
Straw (stir sticks)
Cellophane treat bags
Crinkle paper
Free Printable Gift Tag
Ribbon
Scissors
Hole punch
Before you start, be sure to check what you have on hand first! Many of these items I already had in my craft tote such as ribbons, crinkle paper, and straws.
Target has these cute little heart marshmallows in stock in their Valentine’s Day section.
How To Put the Treat Bags Together
1. First, fill your cellophane bag with a hot chocolate envelope, 5-10 heart marshmallows, 3-4 peppermint candies, and crinkle paper.
2. Tie a ribbon around the top part of the bag to close it up.
3. Print off my Free Printable Gift Tag and make a hole at the top using a hole punch. I used the thin red ribbon to tie on the gift tag.
4. Tie the straw stir stick on using the thicker ribbon. Cut about an inch off of the straw to make it the right size for a coffee mug.
5. To finish it off, I trimmed about an inch off the top of the cellophane bag since mine bags were too big.
Feel free to try out a different color scheme and make these for a different holiday! I have bought themed marshmallows for just about any major holidays!
These treat bags would be a perfect gift or party favor to hand out at a Valentine’s party or the kids’ classroom parties too. If you are planning a party, be sure to check out my Vintage Valentine’s Day Tea Party for more inspiration!
