Hello friends! I don’t now about you but I’m crazy about unicorn parties. This past year, my daughter turned 6 and we just had to join in on the fun and plan a unicorn ice cream birthday party. In the planning process, I like to come up with a party theme that is both popular and unique. Unicorns are the latest craze among young and older girls alike so I figured, hey why not? I hope you enjoy the details!
When I’m planning a party, food often feels like the biggest expense. In order to keep the costs low, I try to keep it simple. In this case, I bought toppings for a self serve ice cream bar. Although I bought quite a few snack items, the expense was really pretty reasonable compared to buying a cake. Also, decaf coffee punch was a big hit and super easy to make. My little two-year old boy especially loved it and kept going back for more.
I’m kind of obsessed with snack bars and you might want to check out my fondue bar featured on my princess birthday party blog post.
Unicorn Ice Cream Birthday Party Decorations:
Mostly, I like to keep my parties simple yet elegant. Creating a unique party theme and picking out the perfect color scheme are important parts of the planning process. On my quest for decorations, I discovered some beautiful pink hanging paper fans at Hobby Lobby. They have a huge selection of colors in the party section.
Also, Target is another great option to check for party supplies. Target has the dollar spot right in the front of the store, which is full of unique items. I’m constantly checking in to buy confetti, banners, holiday decorations, you name it! Plus you can’t beat the price!
Oh and I can’t forget to share about my super cute free unicorn printables by Darlene Meier, a creative lifestyle blogger. These adorable printables accented my party decorations so well and added that little extra something cute!
My kid’s parties are usually pretty laid back in regards to entertainment. Mainly I like to come up with ideas that are free or very inexpensive. I put together a kids coloring corner by covering my kids card table with white paper and printed off unicorn coloring sheets. Also, when the kids weren’t coloring, they were eating yummy snacks at the table.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope my unicorn ice cream party ideas inspired you to plan and decorate your own party. All it takes is a bit of creativity! If you are looking for more kid’s birthday party ideas, I have a bunch more up on the blog!
