My daughter loves Dolphins so I threw her an under the sea birthday party. She invited girls from school over to celebrate! Take a splash into the details and discover easy treats, Dolphin and sea shell decorations, and simple party favors.
Mimi’s Dollhouse provided the cute printables for this party! Geese and Ganders shop sent me the party supplies!

This year, my daughter handed out invitations to girls in her class and over half of them came to her birthday! She was so happy with the great turn out!
Stop by Mimi’s Dollhouse if you are looking for under the sea party invitations. They are truly adorable!
a simple ocean themed treat table
One of my favorite things about party styling is using elements of nature in my designs. To depict an ocean scene, I incorporated sea shells and rustic wooden pedestals.
Then I placed displayed ocean inspired treats on cake stands for the guests to enjoy.
Have you tried Meringue cookies before? If not, you really should. These are a sweet treat with an amazing chewy texture. To dress up your dessert table, display them on a cute cake stand. So easy!
Let’s talk party favors! I kept the under the sea party favors simple! I filled up cellophane bags with yogurt covered pretzels and gummy sharks and attached a cute ocean themed gift tag!
Can you guess my new favorite hobby? Besides party styling that is.. Cupcake decorating! I’m definitely not a pro cupcake decorator, but I still accomplished a fun design! These are totally do-able.
First I baked the cupcakes using a tasty vanilla cupcake recipe. Then I topped it off with candy pearls, crushed graham crackers, and chocolate caramel sea shells! For more inspiration, take a look at my mermaid cookies & cupcakes!
Aren’t these ocean themed cupcake toppers stunning? My friend Holly from Mimi’s Dollhouse did an amazing job creating the party printables.
If you are on the look for for a cute cake stand, I found this one on Amazon.com. Super cute and affordable!
If you are looking for simple backdrop ideas, try hanging banners behind the dessert table! My backdrop consisted of a scallop garland and my daughter’s name banner! So simple and cute!
Then I attached dolphin silhouettes to the banner to match the theme. I made these dolphins cut outs using stencils from Stencil Revolution!
kids’ tablescape fun!
If you are searching for under the sea party supplies, look no further! All you need are these cute plates, cups and napkins from Geese & Ganders! They are truly perfect for an ocean theme!
To add a special detail, I displayed dolphin name cards at each place setting.
For some reason I’m drawn to ombre colored party supplies and these cups were no exception! Don’t you think they send off ocean vibes? Simple straws and straw flags finished off the look nicely.
Table centerpieces don’t need to be overly complex. I kept this one simple by decorating with sea shells and cute glass jars.
“ocean water” Station
When the kids were in line for their drinks, one of them commented that they liked the “ocean water”. Yes! That was exactly the affect I was going for!
Blue Hawaiian punch is my go-to drink for an under the sea birthday party. This recipe consists of one gallon of Berry Blue Hawaiian Punch and one liter of 7-up! Easy peasy!
Cute straws are a novelty that should be at every party. According to my kids, they are pretty much a necessity!
Kids’ Ocean Themed Games
If you are hosting a kids’ birthday party, games are an absolute must. We had quite a few kids attend the party so games really kept everyone happy and occupied!
Do you remember playing pin the tail on the (insert animal name) or in this case, Dolphin? I have fun memories of playing this game as a kid!
A scavenger hunt is another easy game that kids enjoy! I found a few clue ideas online and wrote them on dolphin cards. At the end of the game, all of the girls received a prize bag to take home!
I hope you feel inspired to plan your own ocean themed birthday party soon! We had a lot of fun with ours! For more ideas, check out my daughter’s Mermaid birthday party on the blog. Until next time!
