Booking
At least 2 weeks notice is preferred for booking an event. However, I can accept some last minute orders. Colors & sizes may be subject to availability or a rush fee may apply.
All inquiries need to be sent via email or a quote form on my website. No quotes will be sent via social media. Please allow 24-48 hours for me to respond via email. Your quote expires after 10 days once it’s sent. See my services.

Payment
For Event Styling and Balloon Styling:
After a contract is signed, a 50% non-refundable retainer fee is required to book your event and will be applied to the total cost. The remainder of the payment will be due 5 days before the installation or delivery. A payment is required in full if the total cost is under $100 or if you book 10 days or less before your event.
I accept Paypal, debit card or credit card (via Paypal), cash or money orders. South Dakota sales tax will apply to all services.
Balloon Disclaimer
Joy in the Commonplace is not responsible for the balloons once they are delivered. My balloons are premium quality however, due to the nature of balloons, some may deflate occasionally or lose their shine over time. Balloons last the longest when they are hung indoors and out of direct sunlight. Once the balloons are delivered, all sales are final & no refunds will be given.
Outdoor installations: I use high quality balloons & use techniques to help the balloons last for your event. I can’t guarantee that all balloons will remain in perfect condition. Balloons will oxide or lose their shine in the hot sunlight. Some balloons may deflate on their own. Darker colors do not last as long as lighter colors. Balloons may be adversely affected by wind, rain or other factors out of my control. It’s best to hang up the balloon in a shady area if possible. I recommend hanging up the balloons as close to the event start time as possible. In cooler temperatures, balloons may shrink some.
Cancellation & rescheduling Terms
I understand that plans can change. If the client needs to cancel the event, a written letter must be submitted by email.
Cancellation: If a client decides to cancel their order, they need to notify me in writing (by email) at least 72 hours or a cancellation fee may be charged. If a balloon arrangement is already made, the total amount will be due in full. The 50% retainer fee is non-refundable.
Rescheduling: The client must reschedule at least 72 hours before the event or their order may be subject to a rescheduling fee. If a balloon arrangement is already made, rescheduling will not be an option. The 50% non-refundable retainer fee will apply towards the new event date in 365 days time. The date is subject to availability. If a year has gone by, the client will forfeit their retainer fee.
Rentals
Rentals prices are per day. All rentals will need to be handled with care. If the rental is damaged, the client will be responsible to pay for the retail cost. Rentals are used items, so they may show minimal signs of general wear. All rentals require a pick up fee. Rentals may include backdrops, floral/greenery, cakes stands or other props.
Termination clause
In the case of force majeure clause, or an unforeseen act of God like severe weather or tragedies, I reserve the right to cancel my involvement in the event. If I need to cancel for any reason, a refund will be given in full or you will be given or the option to reschedule and receive a credit towards a later date.
Indemnification clause
I accept no responsibility for negligence or willful acts at the hand of the client or event attendees. Such examples may include damage to the property or injury to an attendee or client.
Liability
I will not be responsible for injury or damage to persons or property involving the goods or products we offer. The client is responsible to pay in full for any damaged or broken serving platters, glassware or rental items.
Kids & Pets Cautions
Uninflated or burst balloons can be a choking hazard and should never be left with children without supervision. Keep balloons away from pets so that they don’t get tangled with balloon ribbons or accidentally ingest popped balloons or their decorative contents like confetti.
Photography/copyright
I reserve the right to use any photographs I take of parties or balloon garlands on my website or for advertising purposes. These photos are under copyright of Joy in the Commonplace.
Setup & Take Down
For Event Styling: I need 2-4 hours prior to the event to set up and decorate. Also, I will need 1-2 hours after the event to take it down.
For Balloon Styling: I will need at least 1-2 hour before the event to install the balloon garland. I do not offer break down services for balloon garlands, unless I need to come back for rentals. Breakdown fees apply.
