My son loves reading all about dinosaurs in books! This theme was so perfect for him. To design a fun theme, I used rustic wooden decorations, greenery and dinosaur printables.
Dinosaur Party Snacks
Lime Jello Jigglers
Gum Candy Eggs
Jelly Beans & Gummy Dinosaur Party Favors
Moist Vanilla Cupcakes
When it comes to party food, I like to keep it really simple. Jello Jigglers are an easy treat to make and the kids love them! Plus these would work well with any party theme. Just switch up the colors to match!
Let’s talk about Dinosaur party favors! If you are looking for a simple idea, just fill a cellophane bag with candy and add a gift tag.
When I found these Dinosaur Gummies, I had to buy them! They were a fun and kid friendly treat to add to the Dinosaur party favor bags.
I can’t rave enough about these moist vanilla cupcakes from the blog, Life, Love and Sugar. Normally I’m not a huge cupcake fan but these are moist delicious.
Cupcake toppers really made my job easy. I just kept the cupcakes very simple and they still turned out cute.
Dinosaur Party Decorations
Let’s travel back in time to pre-historic times! I designed this party to feel like you were actually in the era of the dinosaurs. I decorated with lots of wood elements and greenery to create a fun effect.
This Dinosaur terrarium was so fun to create! To make this, I filled a vase with toy Dinosaurs, moss and rocks. I found the moss at Walmart for under $4! You can also find moss on Amazon.com too!
When I spied these wood printed straws at Hobby Lobby, I just had to buy them. Add straw labels and you are good to go!
It’s so easy to incorporate items from from around the house into the party set up. In this case, we used my son’s toy dinosaurs!
You can try this for any party theme. For example, we decorated with my husband’s police gear for my son’s 2nd police officer party.
I kept the backdrop simple by adding Dinosaur footprints and a Dinosaur party banner with my son’s name on it.
To create the footprints, I found an outline of a footprint on google and traced them onto card stock. Then I cut them out and placed them on the backdrop.
I hope your feel inspired to throw a dinosaur birthday party! This theme is so easy to decorate for! If you need inspiration, stop by my blog post about 20 Prehistoric Dinosaur Party Ideas before you go!

This party is so fantastic! My 3 year old loves dinosaurs too. All the details are so fun and those printables from Holly are amazing! Love it:)
Thanks so much Jordan! You are too sweet! Holly did an amazing job, I agree!
I love this – but for me, personally. Lol. I kind of want to give my daughter a dinosaur party, so I think the rustic idea is great. Any ideas to add a little girly flair?
Thanks so much Beth! That’d be such a fun party for a girl and just add a girly twist. I’ve seen some cute Printables on Mimisdollhouse.com that have a pink, blue and green dinosaur theme.. I think pink would go quite nicely 🙂 Instead of using orange candy, you could for pink.. Just an idea!
What an adorable theme! My nephew would love this!
Thanks so much!! My son loved his party 🙂
I love this party so much! The rustic touches are really cute with this tiny fierce dinosaur!
Thank you for the compliments! 🙂 I like to decorating using rustic and woodsy elements!
