A List of Helpful Resources to Grow Your Blog!
Hello! I’m Sarina the founder of Joy in the Commonplace. I started my blog in 2016 and I’ve found a few useful tools to improve my blogging experience! I’ve created a list of my favorite resources that may help you to get started with a blog or improve your blog.

Web Hosting:
Bluehost: If you are just starting a blog, I would highly recommend Bluehost.com. I hosted with them for almost 4 years and I was pretty happy with my experience! They have affordable pricing and great customer support! You can click the link to sign up!
Siteground: My current host is Siteground.com. I switched over to Siteground because they have great reviews and fast web speed. Overall, I am happy with my experience with Siteground and how easy it was to switch over from Bluehost.com.
If you have a WordPress website and want to switch over to siteground.com, they make it really to do so with a free website migration plugin! So handy!
Pinterest Scheduler
Tailwind: Pinterest is one of my main platforms that I used to drive traffic to my blog! Tailwind scheduler is a great tool to save time! You can schedule your Pinterest pins in bulk to many different boards. I am not currently part of this because it doesn’t fit in my schedule, but I highly recommend it!
E-mail Marketing Account
Mailchimp: Mailchimp is a great way to start out with e-mail marketing! You can sign up for the free account for up to 2,000 subscribers!
Website Theme
Genesis Framework: This theme by Studio Press is super easy to use and you can buy custom child themes to go along with it. Whether you are just beginning or an expert blogger, this theme would work well for your! Ever since I switched to this theme, I have felt that my life as a blogger is so much easier!
Captivating Theme: If you are looking for beautiful, feminine child themes, check out the shop Restored 316! You will need the Genesis Framework to get started! This shop has amazing support and always helps when I have a question!
Storage
Dropbox: Dropbox is a great option for storing or backing up photos!
design programs
Canva: If you have a blog, it’s important to create beautiful graphics and pins for Pinterest. I like to use Canva because it’s effective and free! They do have a pro version as well!
Affinity Designer: I love this design program to create my own printables and pretty much anything else I want to design. It’s affordable and I highly recommend it!
Photography Equipment
Soft Lighting Kit: I love this soft light! It really helps to take photos in low light settings!
Affinity Photo: This photo editing program is amazing! I love how I can edit in raw if I want and it has so many great editing options.
Website Plugins
WP Rocket: This plugin is for speeding up your WordPress website. It costs $49 for one year. I really love it!
SEO Yoast: If you want to incorporate search engine optimization to your site, this plugin is perfect! It give you suggests about updating your post for SEO. I use the free version.
Jetpack: A great plugin to design, secure and grow your website! I used this for security purposes and for social sharing on my posts or pages.
