As a stay at home mom of 4, I’m constantly looking for ways to save money and still throw a stylish party. My son just turned 2 in April! Like any typical boy, he likes to do everything just like his daddy! His dad is a police officer, therefore I put together a spur of the moment police officer birthday party. In the process, I discovered a way to throw a party that is both cost-effective and stress free!  I’d love to share some money and time-saving tips with you!

Police Officer Tablescape

First of all, I came up with a simple backdrop and color scheme. By selecting balloons and streamers are basic party elements that kept the party costs low. There are so many ways to arrange these elements, including making unique back drops and table decorations.  Check my Paw Patrol Skye Birthday Party to find a unique way to make a party backdrop out of streamers.

Also I love to find items from around that house that compliment my party theme and use them as part of the decorating. In this case, I found my husband hand cuffs and police radio!

Since we have four kids all under the age of 6, I like to keep the party snacks simple.  To save money, I made my own cupcakes and dyed the frosting blue to compliment the theme. Also, I bought Blue Bubblegum Jones Soda for the adults and Kool Aid for the kids! Since my food set up was so simple, it literally took me no time at all to clean up afterward.

As a result of my impromptu party idea, our family enjoyed special time together! My son loved eating cupcakes and guzzling down his blue Kool-Aid with his sisters! We all had fun and I enjoyed the process of setting up this party since it was so easy! I encourage your to go for it and throw together a stress free birthday party on a budget! I know you can do this! Happy party planning!
