Gather your supplies and let’s get started! Before you start assembling your trifles, be sure to allow enough time to bake the angel food cake and let it cool. Also, mix your pudding together beforehand.
Supplies:
-6 – Clear 9 Oz. Solo Cups
–Orange Reusable Spoons
-1 Box Angel Food Cake Mix (baked, cooled and cut into pieces! One box makes 3 loaves but I only used less than 1 loaf!)
– 2- 3.4 Oz Coconut Cream Pudding Boxes (Mix these with milk according to box the instructions!)
–Snowman Marshmallows
-Whip Cream Canister
-1 Bag of Coconut Flakes
–4 oz. Warm Hugs Sprinkles Mix
-Large Marshmallows
-Tube of Black Decorating Gel
You can find these “Warm Hugs” sprinkles at Sweets & Treats online shop! These would also be perfect for making melted snowman cookies or cupcakes!
Create a Snowman Face
Let’s have a little fun with sprinkles! I create a snowman face using a large marshmallow and “Warm Hugs” sprinkles mix. If you are making more than 6 servings, I would recommend buying extra sprinkles!
To create snowman eyes, I made 2 small slits near the top of the marshmallow. Feel free to use scissors or a toothpick to create the slits. Press the sprinkles into the marshmallow so they will stay in position!
Every snowman needs a carrot nose, and this snowman is no exception!
To create the perfect “coal” mouth, I attached a few black sprinkles!
Begin Layering Your Trifle
Let’s begin layering our ingredients into 9 oz. solo cups! Feel free to layer them in a different order or add your own favorite ingredients!
My first layer was coconut cream pudding! Not a fan of coconut? Feel free to switch up the pudding and try vanilla, white chocolate or banana cream!
To add a bit of texture, I included 4 or 5 angel food cake squares. Keep in mind you can switch it up and use white cake or graham cracker crumbs instead. Angel food cake happens to my personal favorite!
Next I added another layer of pudding. You can’t have too much pudding now can you?
To add a fun detail, I included a layer of snowman marshmallows! Wouldn’t they be fun to add to hot cocoa as well?
Top it off with a swirl of whip cream! Yum!
Design Your “Melted Snowman”
Now onto the fun part! I created a melted snowman design by placing the marshmallow face on top near the back edge of the cup.
To make my dessert pretty, I added a few white, brown and black sprinkles.
I drew snowman arms into the whip cream using black decorating gel. Using the decorating gel was a bit difficult. If you want an easier route, I would recommend using pretzel sticks or the brown sprinkles to create arms.
That’s all there is to it! These were so easy to make and my kids loved them! They’d be the perfect winter snack idea to make with your kids or a fun snack to serve at a Disney Frozen party! If you need another winter themed snack idea, take a look at these DIY popcorn snowball party favors!
