A balloon backdrop is always a fun addition to any kids’ party or play date. To set the scene, I created a backdrop using balloons, tissue paper garland and a Play-Doh standee.
Have you made a balloon garland before? They are really fun and there are plenty of tutorials online to try!
Decorating a fun Tablescape
Play-Doh plates, yummy treats and cute party favors… that’s what kids’ tablescapes are made of! To create a space for my kids to play and enjoy snacks, I styled a party tablescape with all the bells and whistles. These Play-Doh themed plates and color coordinating paper goods were just what I needed to pull off a fun play date.
As a mom of 5 kids, I am always looking for ways to decorate with kid-friendly decorations. Naturally, kids are curious and they like to play with the decorations on the table. To pull this off, I decorated with Play-Doh supplies from my kids’ Play-Doh storage bin!
Yummy party treat Ideas
At the center of the table, I placed the party snacks on cake stands and a wooden tray. Cake stands add a bit of elevation to the table, creating a fun look! One of my favorite activities is making creative snacks that my kids will be excited about.
Play-Dough themed cupcakes!
What kind of icing works best for a Play-Doh party? Fondant of course! It has a fun texture similar to Play-Doh and it’s fun to work with. I found a great fondant recipe from LisaLoa blog!
To make fondant in different colors, I followed the recipe, put the fondant mixture into separate bowls and mixed in some food coloring. After that, I kneaded, rolled it flat and cut out shapes using mini cookie cutters. Since I didn’t have a triangle cutter on hand, I just used a small knife to cut them out.
a fruit charcuterie board!
My kids are crazy about fruit, but hey I’m not complaining! I will let them eat healthy any day. Although fruit is one of my favorites, it’s even better when styled on fun charcuterie board. That’s just my opinion.
Are you a fruit dip fan? We totally are! To make the dip more fun, I mixed in orange food coloring! If you are looking for more inspiration, check out my Trolls Inspired Snack board! In that case, I dyed the fruit dip and added fun sprinkles.
jello jigglers in fun shapes!
Every time I make Jello Jigglers, my kids devour them in an instant! They are a fun and easy snack that I make a lot for parties.
To match the Play-Doh theme, I made Jello Jigglers in three different colors and cut them out like triangles, squares and so on.
“Build your own” monster party favors!
I’m all for simple party favors that keep my kids entertained, so I came up with “build your own monster” party favors. Grab the free printable party favor toppers to make your own.
These party favors are super easy to put together. Let’s get started!
Directions:
Print your party favor printables! Fill cellophane bags with play dough containers, colorful googly eyes and short pieces of pipe cleaners. (cut them 2-3 inches long).
Cut out and fold the printables over the top of the cellophane bags. Staple the printable favor toppers to the bag near the bottom. Enjoy!
Let the kids create their own monsters!
My kids love to play with Play-Doh! They had a ball using the contents in the party favor bags to make their own monsters.
These favors are so fun because kids of any age can enjoy them!
There is no right or wrong way to build a monster! The sky is the limit.
When my kids were done playing, we put the party favor supplies in ziplock bags and stored them in our Play-Doh bin. They are the perfect activity to take out on a rainy day!
I hope you found a few fun ideas to plan your own Play-Doh themed play date or kids’ birthday party! If you enjoyed this party, Shindigz has got you covered with their cute Play-Doh party supplies! If you love this, scroll down to find links to shop this post. Good luck party planning!
