Who says that Halloween needs to be traditional? I love to mix it up and try a new color palette! My thought was to plan a modern Halloween party for my kids to enjoy.
My friend Holly from Mimi’s Dollhouse created the perfect Halloween printables to make my job easy! Aren’t the cute?
Are you a cupcakes or cake person? I’m normally into making cupcakes just because they are easy and fun! I found a yellow cupcake recipe over at Mel’s Kitchen Cafe blog.
I felt pretty stoked to try out my new cake stand that I found on Amazon.com. It’s really cute and fun!
Guys, I can’t rave enough about these cupcake liners from Shop Sweets and Treats. They are such high quality and the cupcake grease doesn’t even show through!
In my opinion, simple is best when it comes to decorating cupcakes! Modern cupcake toppers and a fun sprinkles mix were all I needed to dress up the cupcakes.
To create a fun and easy party favor, I filled goodie bags with homemade chocolate covered pretzels. Then I attached modern favor tags to finish off the look.
How to Make Chocolate Pretzels
Ingredients:

-Bag of Pretzels
First, I melted the chocolate melts in the microwave in a bowl according to the package instructions.
Then I dipped each pretzel into the chocolate using a fork. Lastly, I placed each pretzel on wax paper to harden.
Have you ever tried making chocolate bark? This cutesy Spider bark was really easy to make. Click here to find the full recipe!
I felt inspired when I saw spooky tree branches at the Target Dollar Spot. So I made my own DIY Halloween branches instead of buying them! My motto is, why buy it if I can make it?
And yet another easy project! I made these DIY glitter Halloween pumpkins using real mini pumpkins. These were fun and easy to decorate, with just the right amount of glitter!
Setting up a Halloween Party Tablescape
Using some cute plates from Target and glass milk bottles, I set up simple place settings for each child. Little bat name tag were the perfect accent to personalize each child’s space.
To create a simple centerpiece, I used a mix of vases and glittery pumpkins. Since I am an avid collector of colorful vases, I didn’t need to go out and buy them!
Have you heard of surprise balls? They are so fun for kids! Basically a surprise ball is streamers wrapped around small prizes. As a child unravels the streamers, they discover the toys inside.
To try something fun. I created Spider surprise balls. and placed one at each place setting. My kids had a blast unraveling these to find their toys!
If you like to eliminate the paper goods, I’d recommend the using glass milk bottles. They worked so perfectly for the kids and I just decorated them with straws and cute printables.
Setting up a Halloween Party Drinks Station
Blue Hawaiian punch made the perfect party drink. All I did was mix blue Hawaiian punch and 7-up together!
Sometimes, simple is the way to go! I found a paper bat silhouettes at Walmart in the Halloween section and I used them to dress up our party cups.
What kid isn’t crazy about straws? Or maybe it’s just my kids! Even after the party is over, they are constantly begging for them!

Love your Aqua take on Halloween! Cute printables as well! Everything is freaking adorable! I’d love to know what your backdrop panels are. Are they cabinet doors?
Thanks so much!!! I appreciate your kind words. My husband made the backdrop using re-purposed wood.
I believe it came off of an old chicken coop! We have so many old buildings etc.. Then he just added
the doorknob for me 🙂
I really love the twist on the Halloween colors! So fresh and elegant!
Thank you so much!! I appreciate the compliment!
