DIY Wreath Ideas
To start out, I gathered a few supplies from the Dollar Tree & Hobby Lobby. You can also find most of these on Amazon.com.
Supplies:
–Artificial Canadian Pine Pipe Cleaners
-Mini Bells
-Pom poms
-Mini cones & berry picks
–Hot glue gun
Create Your Wreath Base
We started out with Canadian pipe cleaners to make the wreath base! I didn’t even know these existed until recently. Either way they are pretty cool!
To make the wreath a bit more thick, we twisted 2 pipe cleaners around each other from end to end.
Then we twisted the top ends of the pipe cleaners together to form the wreath. Now that you have a simple wreath base, let’s get decorating!
3 Ways to Decorate a DIY Christmas Wreath
My kids and I created 3 wreath variations. All of these ideas are super simple for kids to create on their own!
DIY Pine Cone Wreath
The first wreath we made was a DIY pine cone wreath. To make this, we glued on a few pine cones and berries. Then we twisted the wire around the wreath.
This wreath was one of my favorites! It totally reminds me of a classic Christmas wreath that you hang on your front door.
Jingle Bells Wreath
“Jingle Bells, Jingle Bell, Jingle all the way..” This next wreath makes me feel nostalgic about singing Christmas carols as a kid.
My kids loved this Christmas wreath and had a blast shaking the bells to make music!
Pom Pom Wreath
These festive pom poms reminded me of Christmas ornaments! Plus they are one of my kids’ favorite craft supplies!
It’s amazing how unique craft projects my kids create using only pipe cleaners and a few pom poms!
Overall, my kids really enjoyed making thee DIY Christmas wreaths. Each step was super easy to do and they didn’t really need my help.
These are just a few DIY wreath ideas you could create! There’s not wrong way to make these.
When you are finished with your wreath, you could attach a magnet to the back or tie on a ribbon to create a fun ornament.
That’s all there is to it! If you need a simple afternoon kids’ activity, this DIY Christmas wreath would be the perfect choice! It didn’t take long to make and my kids had a blast!
Which wreath is your favorite? Mine is the classic pine cone wreath!
