Hello friends, I’m so excited to introduce my friend Jordan from Jordan’s Easy Entertaining blog! Jordan will be teaching you how to make an easy DIY Fall favor bag. Once you’ve finished creating these fun favors, just fill them with yummy Fall treats like popcorn, trail mix or candy corn!
Hi everyone! Jordan here from Jordan’s Easy Entertaining. Today I’m sharing with you these really easy DIY Fall Party Favor Bags. Last year over on my blog, Sarina shared with my readers this super cute mini caramel apple pie party favor.
Since we both love to share fun party ideas, I thought you would like this idea for wrapping up your small gifts. I’m a little obsessed with gift wrap and I love beautiful packaging.
DIY Fall Party Favor Bags Supplies
You might already have everything you need to make these party bags at home. I picked up my card stock and ribbon from Joann’s and the wooden stickers are from Dollar Tree. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 8.5×11 in. cardstock in wood print and foil gold
- tape
- hole punch
- ribbon
- scissors
- paper cutter
- fall themed wooden stickers
DIY Fall Party Favor Bags Instructions
Steps 1-6
Step 1: Place your wood print cardstock face down horizontally and fold the two ends so that they slightly overlap.
Step 2: Use the tape to secure the overlapped ends of the cardstock together along the entire seam.
Step 3: Fold the bottom of the card stock about three inches up.
Step 4: Open up the fold and press along the new seams and firmly crease using your fingers or a straight edge (like of a ruler or a bone folder.)
Step 5: Fold up one end of the flap slightly more than half way.
Step 6: Now fold over the other flap and secure the bottom of the bag with plenty of tape.
Your basic bag structure is done! Open up the bag and place your party favor inside. Now it’s time to add the fun embellishments that makes this a perfect fall party favor.
Steps 7-12
Step 7: Fold over the top of your bag.
Step 8: Cut a strip of the gold foil card stock about 2 inches in width using the paper cutter or your pair of scissors. Cut it again to your desired length so that when the strip is folded in half, it will sit on top of the bag.
Step 9: Using your scissors cut a notch into the folded cardstock.
Step 10: Place the folded gold foil card stock over the top of the party favor bag and use a hole punch to punch two holes through both the gold and wood print card stock.
Step 11: Add your ribbon through the holes and tie a bow. Cut a notch into the ends of the ribbon.
Step 12: Add a fall themed wooden sticker to the gold foil.
All done! That may seem like a lot of steps, but it goes so fast. It took me about two minutes to make one party favor bag from start to finish.
Fall Party Plans?
I love these diy fall party favor bags because they are totally custom, easy and super affordable. They’re perfect for any fall party you have planned. Can’t you picture these on your Thanksgiving table, fall harvest party, or maybe even at a fall baby shower?
A big thank you to Sarina for allowing me to share these DIY fall party favor bags with you.
