When Halloween comes around, my kids ALWAYS get way more candy than they know what to do with! To avoid sugar overload, I made super easy DIY Spider surprise balls for my kids. They’d be a cute party favor or a fun gift idea for kids. Grab your craft supplies and let’s get started!

Supplies:
Black Party Streamers
Black Pipe Cleaners
Kids’ Trinkets
Googly Eyes
Hot Glue Gun
Scissors
Double-sided Tape
Step 1:
Choose a kids’ toy and begin wrapping streamers around the toy until the toy is completely covered. Use about an arms length worth of streamers.
Cut off the streamers and place doubled-side tape onto the spider ball (or wrapped up toy) and secure the end of the streamers to the ball.
*Tip: Don’t worry about spending a lot of money on prizes! I found mine at the Dollar Tree!
Step 2:
Begin wrapping another toy into the streamers and repeat step 1 until you’ve included 4-5 toys.
Step 3:
Wrap the streamers around the final toy until the ball has reached the desired size.
Step 4:
Cut off the streamers using scissors.
Step 5:
Tape the end of the streamers to the body with permanent double-sided tape.
Step 6:
On the front side of the spider ball, add two dots of glue using a hot glue gun.
Step 7:
Add two or more googly eyes to create a face.
Step 8:
Gather four black pipe cleaners and cut them about 5 inches long each using scissors. If you want longer legs, you can cut the pipe cleaner in half. (pipe cleaners are about 12 inches long.)
Step 9:
Place 4 dots of hot glue along the top edges on each side of the spider ball. Attach each pipe cleaner to the hot glue. Bend the legs so they curl just a bit to create spider legs.
Step 10:
Admire your finished creation! All the kids need to do now is unravel their fun surprises that are hidden between the layers of streamers.
This surprise ball was the perfect addition to my modern Halloween party for kids. If you are looking for an easy non-candy Halloween party favor for kids, you should really make these DIY Spider surprise balls.
