When I’m styling a kids’ party, I like to decorate with oodles of balloons! My kids love them and they get a kick out of playing with them after the party is over! To set the scene, I styled a heart balloon backdrop behind the kids’ tablescape.
how to make a heart balloon backdrop
To build the backdrop, start out with pink, gold, blue & pearl pink balloons! Blow up the balloons with a hand held balloon pump. Grab some packing tape and make 2-3 inch strips. Roll the tape back onto itself, place onto the balloons and attach the balloons to the wall. Easy peasy!

valentine’s candy charcuterie board
We can’t do Valentine’s day around here without Valentine’s candy! To display the candy in a fun way, I made a candy charcuterie board. I highly recommend it! I probably had more fun then the kids.
To go along with the conversation heart pastel colors, I included smarties and conversation heart candies!
conversation heart cupcakes
Do you remember passing conversation hearts to friends in elementary school? I have many fond memories! To have a little fun, I made conversation heart cupcakes with cute cupcake toppers!
To create this look, print off the cupcake toppers printable twice (the first page). Cut them out and attach the matching hearts together over top a tooth pick. This will create a topper with a front and back! Double sided tape works great!
Pink… The color classic for Valentine’s Day! My cupcakes looked prettier in pink too! They looked perfect in white cupcake liners.
the cutest place settings!
For each place setting, I set out darling plates and cups from MeParty. To add a festive detail, included a straw with a straw flag! Just print off the straw flag printables and attach them to the straw using doubled sided tape.
easy party favors!
Surprise the kids with a fun party favor bag! These are so easy to put together, I promise.
To create my favors, I filled a cellophane bags with paper shred and a conversation heart candy boxes. Then I tied on printable favor tags with twine! If you are looking for more party favor ideas, check out my hot chocolate treat bags!
Let’s get crafty!
Honestly, I’m not the kind of mom who crafts a lot with my kids. I’m all about coming up with easy crafts that they can do independently! They had a ball decorating Valentine’s bookmarks with stickers.
If you are looking for cute stickers, check out the Dollar Tree! I found the cutest conversation heart stickers there.
This activity was perfect for my toddlers, although my older kids enjoyed it as well. Of course they had to sample a few candies in the process.
If you are thinking of throwing a Valentine’s party, my advice is to keep it simple. It’s all about having fun and making memories. I hope you feel inspired to throw a conversation heart Valentine’s Day party! Feel free to grab the party printables to get started! Thanks again to MeParty for sending over the fun party supplies!
